2015 has been the year of practical parenting. We have seen thousands of ranges across our ‘kitchen table’ namely the place in our head office where we get to see the latest, the greatest and the most interesting products to hit the industry. It is also the place where we get to connect to global brands and with great excitement, work with them to enter the South African market. With 13 years under the KE umbrella, I am always pleasantly surprised to see continued innovation in the children’s industry. Nursery Furniture
When I fell pregnant with my daughter 12 years ago, her nursery became my passion. At 6 months pregnant, it was complete. Everything matched, it was flawless. By the time she was 6 months old, I re-designed it. This time I came with mommy experience and realised that practical surpassed pretty. Kids Emporium strives to assist parents to create nurseries that make parenting sense. Our nursery furniture range, including lines from Stokke and Babyhood, is a proud favourite of mine.

They say a picture says a thousand words. Do yourself a favour, sit in it. Whether pregnant, breastfeeding, reading a bedtime story or simply catching a power nap, this glider is amazing!

Finding a place to store baby’s bath when not in use is a constant moan from our moms. And then this happens. Clever, Clever, Clever! Stokke is known for innovation and they continue to develop products that are smart. A foldable bath that is suitable from birth to 4 years and can be easily stored. In our office we would call this product, ‘Stokke Smart’.
4Moms Mamaroo
I think it had me at ‘Bluetooth enabled’. This chair doesn’t vibrate or swing as that’s not what parents do .. it bounces and sways ‘cos that’s what parents do. It has built in sounds and MP3 plug in, adjustable seat recline, removable seat covers and it comes with reversible toys. Love this product!
Mini Buggy
Every mom ultimately needs a lightweight stroller. The MINI Buggy is all that one needs, easy to fold, super light and suitable from birth to toddler plus its just so damn sexy!
Alilo Night Light
Here is a night light that sings, tells stories, plays music and and and! A highly innovative and multi functional media player specifically designed for children that does it all. Alilo night lights are simply awesome and a must-have!
Boba Carrier
With stores around the country, I do my fair share of flying. Not a flight goes by where I see a mom or few struggling with pram, car seat, nappy bag, lap top bag, toddler all accompanied by a full fleet of non child friendly fellow passengers. Parents, get yourself a carrier, pop baby in, get on that plane with ease and show the fellow non child friendlies how easy it can be to travel with baba!
Elf on the Shelf
Last but not least, I am literally obsessed with Christmas and love holiday traditions. This little elf has stolen my heart and has become an official member of our family. He appeared in our home on the 1st December and will be keeping Santa updated on who’s being naughty or nice. Once the kids are asleep, Elf comes to life and finds a new spot in our home. Each morning my children have lept out of bed (which seldom happens) to see what Elf is up. I can already tell he will be in our family for generations to come .. with that said, we have christened our Elf, Ralph.
